Happy New Year!

It's year 2010 today! Happy New Year to every mommies / daddies...

I have a new year resolution which is to Potty-Train my soon-to-be 15 months old DS! Well, at least it's time to teach him to develope the awareness... He's been having problem to poo poo as he refuses to sit on potty and will protest whenever we tried to get him station for more than 3 seconds. He's super hyperactive, I'm having a BIG headache as he prefers to walk and poo at the same time! *roll eyes*

Well, I'm still having chances to continue using cloth diapers at the same time. So, won't feel that bad to potty-train my DS...

CLOTH DIAPERS go ROCK 'N ROLL!!!

Before putting a fresh diaper on, i'd let my boy sit on his potty-chair while i sing to him and encourages him to pee/poo. So far, it has worked well since he was 8 months old. Most poo are done on the potty with an occasional accident. (Less poopy diapers, yeah!)

If he is in a lousy mood and doesn't want to sit on the potty, I let him go straightaway and try again when he is receptive. Hope this helps.

Good luck and Happy 2010! :)

Keep trying, but don't force the issue either, it doesn't work to make it a power struggle. My daughter was the same way, she would NOT sit down on the potty for more than 2 seconds, literally! With patience and encouragement she was daytime potty trained by 22 months. Most of that happened within a 1-2 month period, with several months of on and off trying before that. Don't stress and don't worry, it WILL happen, but with our very active children who don't want to sit on the potty long enough to do anything we have to be a bit patient! Oh,and the small potty chair never did work for my daughter, I had to get the cushiony one to put on the big toilet.

Hi! My son is 16 months and I use terry nappies, the old fashioned way, with pins and then plastic pants as a waterproof layer above the nappy. It's cold here where we are so moldy nappies never seem to be a problem. I also use tea tree oil with every wash. I decided to use the terries because they are much easier to dry after washing, and also tend not to keep residues of wees&poos. Also with the cold weather here, the plastic pants seem not to be an issue (they don't irritate the skin by heating up too much).

Anyway, my question is: how do I potty train my son with the nappy system I'm using? It seems rather difficult to unpin the nappy everytime I 'suspect' my son needs to sit on the potty. Any suggestions?
